And to you Solipsist! Thanks for your blog!

Spring will be like Christmas for many of us, hopefully we have a full blown Boxing Day by the start of summer.. ;)

Looking forward to the summer solstice, I am!

Deals will abound. But I won't pull the trigger before I see - 35% to -45%,

I guess I am pretty "bull-headed". It's the feisty Irish scrooge in me.

You/They/Me may be waiting a long time. Us locals are the tail of the dog - and the dog - the global economy - just finished the best year of growth in three decades.

Should be an interesting '07!

Merry Chistmas Solipsist. I hope everyone realizes that no matter what, we are very lucky to be living in a place like this.

May everyone find joy and happiness this time of year.

(except those RE economists, they need a lump of coal in their stockings....;-) )

I truly love your attitude. And I agree whole-heartedly. We might have to wait awhile, though.

yeah, 24-30 months, on average.

Thanks for the blog, and happy holidays.

Hey bc_cele,

We are lucky only because the high priests of war don't need to ravage this place. They already own it.

Pretty blinking lucky, alright.

not :)

The American news is making me very optimistic for once. I say GVRD real estate prices will be 10% down yoy by this time next year, condos declining more than SFHs. Hopefully that won't require a recession.

Exvan,

serious offer, if you have a burning desire to help out in some way, I know plenty of NGO's that would be more than happy for you to join them and go overseas. Plenty of them have missions in places such as the Sudan, Afghanistan and even in Iraq.

They really need compassionate caring people to help out and you seem to be just what they are looking for.

NGO's are organizations that help promote globalization. The UN is not just corrupt but biased and does not act in the interest of good. I know you guys think now this guy must be one of those GW Bush guys who thinks the UN is corrupt because they didn't go along with the US for Iraq. No I always thought the UN was corrupt. I don't support the UN and other misguided organizations such as amnesty international. Where there is real evil they ignore it. They are too busy declaring first world nations as human righst violators for the most trivial thing meanwhile millions are being murdered in countries like the ones you mentioned such as Sudan. And what is being done nothing. It is very trendy right now to talk about the evil going on in Sudan. It is funny I have been talking about this for years yet ignored by so called leftists who are apparently worldy and in tuned with the world. now that hollywood is trying to embarass Bush showing that if he was not in Iraq he could be in Sudan, no suddenly eveyone cares. People the plight of Christians and animists in Sudan has been going on since the 50's. If Bush invaded all you leftists would be crying to get out.
don't go working for some useless NGO. you will be doing the world a diservice.

Oh Exvan, your turn.

Nice try, bc_sili.

This is supposed to be a real estate blog. And rhetorical discussions about war and peace will make the blog owner pissed off.

I, for one, won't go there.

You, however, can blow off as hard as you like.

Exvan, perhaps I should clarify something. I, unlike anonomous, have nothing against most NGOs. I find that the UN has been very ineffecutal, but most are trying to provide humane services to those who are suffering in this world.

I am far from a war-monger and would like nothing more than for you to explain to the women being assassinated over there for teaching girls how we are just there to exploit them...really I am just waiting. I'm also waiting to see what great civic-minded deeds you've done. Perhaps you donated a wing to a hospital..oh not that rich? Just tell me how much of your time you gave to those in your community, then. I suspect with all your bravado that you must be donating most of your free time to those in need. What are you? So what is it that you do? Give out food at the local shelter? Give 10% to your local church? Wait, a Boy Scout leader, right? How about giving a few hours to coach a local sports team? Good job on all of that.

I'm dying to see what you are going to say about this.

Solipsist,

I do appologize for what is going on here. I don't want to ruin your blog with my vitriol, especially when it is suppose to be a joyous time of the year.

Believe me, after what I've seen I wish nothing more than that we could be living in a world that was peaceful and where everyone could get along. Unfortunately, things in this world are never so simple. Even in these exchanges one can see why things are not so peaceful...if things were only different.

That's OK. It's not necessarily a 'joyous' time of the year. There are lots of us folks not having a joyous time.

At ease, soldier.

I am not the enemy.

I posted the anonymous comment at12:12 not exvan. i post under a different name that I choose not to reveal as I only come here for real estate. I just couldn't resist jumping in about NGO's.

Arrogance and stupidity in one package is difficult to swallow. I am not a soldier, I am an airman. Moreover, I am an officer, and I don't take orders from you. If you don't like to deal with the ramifications of your behaviour, then stop being such a prick.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that you were exvan. I was actually wanting him to respond to your comments. Of course, I doubt he will because he doesn't want to actually have to think about his reply. He'd rather just sprout off about things he has no idea about. Which is fine with me, just a long as he realizes that the only reason he can do it is because those like me gave their lives a long time ago so that he can disparrage us.

You're a hurtin' unit is what you are.

You haven't the slightest idea of what you're talking about, or who you're talking to.

Get some R&R. You're hooped.

I trimmed a few of the more vitriolic comments - just because there is no need.

I don't mind lively discussion and debate, and this is an off-topic post, but try to keep it civil.

A couple of you have gone at each other before, so there is a history.

I do not like war or violence, and biting at ourselves will not help anyone. Keep cool folks.

Let's all go over to kiva.org and put up $25 (or what you can/want) in micro-credit capital. There are lots of worthy projects, and you are pretty much 99.9% likely to get your money back.

No NGO's or governments involved - just little people helping out little people in small ways.

Thanks.
