You/They/Me may be waiting a long time. Us locals are the tail of the dog - and the dog - the global economy - just finished the best year of growth in three decades.
NGO's are organizations that help promote globalization. The UN is not just corrupt but biased and does not act in the interest of good. I know you guys think now this guy must be one of those GW Bush guys who thinks the UN is corrupt because they didn't go along with the US for Iraq. No I always thought the UN was corrupt. I don't support the UN and other misguided organizations such as amnesty international. Where there is real evil they ignore it. They are too busy declaring first world nations as human righst violators for the most trivial thing meanwhile millions are being murdered in countries like the ones you mentioned such as Sudan. And what is being done nothing. It is very trendy right now to talk about the evil going on in Sudan. It is funny I have been talking about this for years yet ignored by so called leftists who are apparently worldy and in tuned with the world. now that hollywood is trying to embarass Bush showing that if he was not in Iraq he could be in Sudan, no suddenly eveyone cares. People the plight of Christians and animists in Sudan has been going on since the 50's. If Bush invaded all you leftists would be crying to get out. don't go working for some useless NGO. you will be doing the world a diservice.
I posted the anonymous comment at12:12 not exvan. i post under a different name that I choose not to reveal as I only come here for real estate. I just couldn't resist jumping in about NGO's.
I trimmed a few of the more vitriolic comments - just because there is no need.
I don't mind lively discussion and debate, and this is an off-topic post, but try to keep it civil.
A couple of you have gone at each other before, so there is a history.
I do not like war or violence, and biting at ourselves will not help anyone. Keep cool folks.
Let's all go over to kiva.org and put up $25 (or what you can/want) in micro-credit capital. There are lots of worthy projects, and you are pretty much 99.9% likely to get your money back.
No NGO's or governments involved - just little people helping out little people in small ways.

And to you Solipsist! Thanks for your blog!
Spring will be like Christmas for many of us, hopefully we have a full blown Boxing Day by the start of summer.. ;)
Looking forward to the summer solstice, I am!
Deals will abound. But I won't pull the trigger before I see - 35% to -45%,
I guess I am pretty "bull-headed". It's the feisty Irish scrooge in me.

Should be an interesting '07!
yeah, 24-30 months, on average.
Thanks for the blog, and happy holidays.
